Rustavi center offers services to 7 municipalities within the Kvemo Kartli region. These
municipalities are: Rustavi, Bolnisi, Gardabani, Dmanisi, Tetritskaro, Marneuli and

The center offers two types of meeting spaces:
Large conference room – 75 persons
Workshop Small conference room – 15 persons
Rustavi center opened on 1 March 2012. Since then some 3800 meetings have been
conducted with some 150 000 participants. The meetings are attended by
representatives of non-governmental sector, local self-government, central government,
business companies, media, political subjects, civic activists, students and school
By the initiative of the center some 180 public meeting were held focusing on important
issues on local as well as national levels. The meetings were dedicated to problems that
ethnic, religious and other vulnerable groups face in the city of Rustavi as well as other
problematic issues (such as: social, healthcare, infrastructural and etc.) existing in the
Kvemo Kartli region. For instance: in Rustavi city several infrastructural problems were
tackled: road crossings were installed, several streets were renovated and a few areas
Regular meetings of the local self-government bodies are held at the center at which
public officials have the opportunity to meet with the city residents which in its turn
increases the transparency and citizen engagement in solving social issues.
A Women’s Club functioning within the center is working on women issues and the
needs women face. Together with this club the center has prepared a legislative
initiative for socially unprotected groups and families with many children which will be
presented to the parliament. Discussions and various events dedicated to discussing
gender policy, celebration of Women’s Month and a 16-day campaign against gender-
based violence supported by the center is an important step towards increased gender
awareness among the general public.
In 2012-2017 the center hosted an election media-center which provided safe and
secure space for all parties participating in the elections. All political parties operating in
Georgia had the opportunity to conduct briefings and meetings with the voters, as wellas informative meetings with analysts and experts and debates between the candidates
at the premises of the center.
A lot of civic initiative groups consolidated and many organizations were established
within the premises of the center. For instance: a youth group established a non-
governmental organization which holds annual literary festival “Galaktionoba”. The
center continues to support the organization process of this festival and many other
cultural-educational events, such as: annual competition-festival of Georgian songs
“Skhva Sakartvelo Sad Aris” (Is there any other Georgia?).
The center is the gathering space for Rustavi youth. Together with these youth groups
the center is working towards solving environmental issues concerning the city.
With the support and involvement of the center the issue of stray dogs has been solved.
A shelter for stray dogs has been created.
Along with the abovementioned, the center has always been supporting all interested
parties to join the international campaigns to celebrate important dates which help
enhance the local population’s civic awareness.
